When it comes to calories, both Pepsi Max and Diet Coke have almost no calories (there is only 1 calorie in a 330ml can).

Also, neither of these drinks offers much in terms of nutrition – there is no fat, sugar, protein or salt in any of them.

So, what are they sweetened with? They are both sweetened with artificial sweeteners aspartame and Acesulfame K.

Pepsi Max contains only minimal amounts of caffeine but the brand doesn’t disclose exactly how much caffeine there is in its Pepsi range. In contrast, Diet Coke has 46mg of caffeine per 330ml can.

There is also a version of Pepsi Max and Diet Coke that does not contain any caffeine at all if you’d rather avoid caffeine.

Difference between Pepsi Max and Diet Coke

Pepsi Max and Diet Coke are very similar in terms of ingredients as they both contain carbonated water, colour, sweeteners, flavourings and acids (citric acid and phosphoric acid). However, Pepsi Max contains the preservative Potassium Sorbate which is not found in Diet Coke.

The other difference is in their taste. Some people say that Pepsi Max has a more intense flavour than Diet Coke. Others find that Diet Coke is slightly sweeter and more refreshing.

Is Pepsi Max better for you than Diet Coke?

There is no clear answer as to whether Pepsi Max is healthier than Diet Coke. Both drinks are calorie-free and low in sugar, however, they contain artificial sweeteners which can have a negative impact on health.

Although artificial sweeteners are considered to be safe when consumed within the recommended limits, they disrupt gut bacteria balance in many people and this could lead to all kinds of diseases. However, more studies are needed to confirm this effect.

If you’re trying to improve your diet or lose weight, then neither of these drinks are going to help you reach your goals. Water is always the best choice when it comes to hydration.
